Born in Hamburg in 1996, Anton Gerzenberg began playing the piano at the age of four and has been taught by Julia Suslin and Julia Botchkovskaia in Hamburg, Jan Jiracek von Arnim in Vienna, and currently by Pierre-Laurent Aimard in Cologne, among others. In 2019 he co-founded the Ensemble for New Music ÉRMA in Cologne, which gave its first concert in close collaboration with Unsuk Chin. Chamber music-wise, he has performed with musicians such as Martha Argerich, Dora Schwarzberg, and Alvise Vidolin. He has given piano concerts with the Taipei Symphony Orchestra, the Munich Symphony Orchestra, the Hamburg Camerata, the Musikkollegium Winterthur and the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, among others. He is also a frequent guest at festivals such as the Progetto Martha Argerich in Lugano, the Ruhr Piano Festival, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Accademia Chigiana in Siena and the Mozartfest Würzburg. In June 2021, he won the First Prize at the 15th Concours Géza Anda in Zurich.
